Graduation season has officially come to a close across all of our Distinctive Schools campuses, and we could not be more proud of our students! This season, we are celebrating incredible strides: Kindergarteners completing their first year in school, students stepping up to the next grade, and Seniors beginning their life after high school are all meaningful steps toward the future our students choose.
Our Kindergarten students have grown so much over the course of the year. In addition to growing foundational academic competencies, like reading, writing, adding, and subtracting, they have mastered important social skills, like standing quietly in a line and sharing. The foundation they have built this past year has prepared them for the big step to 1st grade in the fall!

For our CICS Lloyd Bond 6th graders and all of our 8th graders, stepping up also means graduating from their current school environment. As the oldest students, each has spent the past school year serving as leaders in their school communities.
Our CICS Lloyd Bond 6th grade students are officially ready to finish their middle school years in a larger school setting. At CICS Lloyd Bond, they have learned the responsibilities of being a middle school student by navigating multiple classes, managing their schedules, and diving deeper into complex subjects. They are leaving CICS Lloyd Bond with a stronger academic foundation and the confidence needed to walk into their next chapter, ready to conquer their next school environment!

Graduating from 8th grade is a major rite of passage. Watching so many 8th graders grow over the years as individuals and scholars has been a tremendous privilege. Participating in various extracurricular activities along with new academic challenges have allowed them to develop deep personal interests. Many even used these educational experiences to intentionally choose the best high school for their next chapter.

Senior year is truly the culmination of a student’s K–12 journey, and our CICS Longwood High School seniors are no exception. Classes like OneGoal and Senior Seminar provided real-world experiences with the support of our incredible staff. Students learned the importance of personal finance, researched and applied to colleges, and presented capstones to show off their years of hard work. On May 29th, they walked across the stage as confident, articulate young adults, ready for their futures. While they are leaving our classrooms, their legacy will remain in the hallways for years to come.
Graduations aren’t the end of the journey; in fact, they are the launchpad for a lifetime of continuous learning and discovery.
As Mary Beck, President & CEO of Distinctive Schools shared in her graduation speech: “The goal isn’t to have all the answers today, the goal is to keep moving, stay curious, and stay brave enough to try, fail, and try again. This moment isn’t the finish line; it’s the starting block.” We are so proud of the people all of our Distinctive Schools learners are becoming and cannot wait to see them thrive in whatever their future holds!
