We are thrilled to introduce Krystle Barnes as the new Assistant Principal at CICS Lloyd Bond! A familiar face to many, Mrs. Barnes has spent her entire 15-year career in education here at CICS Lloyd Bond, serving as a Kindergarten and 2nd-grade teacher, a mentor, and a lead instructional coach. Her endorsements in science, social science, and reading provide a wide sense of expertise to the role of assistant principal.
Mrs. Barnes’ journey is deeply rooted in her lifelong dream of being an educator. While she initially saw herself strictly in the classroom, she has embraced this new leadership role as a unique opportunity to create an even wider educational ripple effect. “I always felt my heart was in the classroom, but my impact only extended to the students in my classroom,” Mrs. Barnes shares. “In this new role, I still get to be with students while coaching teachers to be the best versions of themselves. My ripple, my impact, is growing to all of our students, their families, and our entire staff.”
By supporting both students and teachers across the school, Mrs. Barnes aims to help every child reach their full potential. “I love to see those ‘aha!’ moments where students come in as blank slates and they leave you as these big, bright, independent thinkers,” she says. She is particularly excited to foster an environment where CICS Lloyd Bond’s excellence is visible in both our hallways and measurable success of our students' goals. “When people walk into our school, they can see and feel what makes CICS Lloyd Bond so special, but I want kids to meet and exceed academic goals so you see it on paper first before stepping foot in the building.”
Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. Barnes is a dedicated learner, currently pursuing her Master’s in Educational Leadership. When she isn't at school, you might find her enjoying a good meal, reading, or shopping. Her long-standing connections to our families, often seeing former students return as young adults, remind her that CICS Lloyd Bond is truly home.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Barnes to this new chapter!
