We have exciting news for our AIM community – Dion Steele will be joining our team as the Principal of Art In Motion!
Dion Steele, a youth and community advocate, administrator, entrepreneur, and an exceptional educational leader joins Distinctive Schools with over 10 years experience in school leadership. Dion has served as Director of External Partnerships and the Extended Day Program at University of Chicago Charters, and as Assistant Principal and Principal at Urban Prep Academies. Dion is a graduate of IMSA, earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and masters from the University of Chicago. He believes without equivocation that all students can learn and should be held to high standards, he is committed to addressing the needs of the whole child, and strives to create a culture of inclusiveness and connectedness. The deep knowledge, high standards and expectations, and leadership experiences Dion brings to Art In Motion will be an asset to the community.
Mr. Steele shared, "I am thrilled to be a part of the Art in Motion community – I look forward to collaborating with our staff, students, and families to enrich community, creativity, love, and excellence at AIM. I'm excited to provide additional access and opportunities for our unique students and staff."
